Participants are required to arrange their own international flights to and from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Our team will meet you upon arrival and provide airport transfers to the designated hotel. Accommodation before the official start of the expedition is not included and should be arranged independently.

On the expedition start day, we will collect you from your hotel and transfer you to our designated accommodation. After completing the necessary paperwork, you'll attend a short expedition briefing over tea, coffee, and snacks. We will then assign your motorcycle and head out for a relaxed 30 km test ride through the surrounding countryside, allowing you to familiarize yourself with the bike and local riding conditions before the adventure begins.
The expedition begins and ends in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's vibrant capital city. Our team will ensure a smooth start and finish to your adventure, allowing you to focus entirely on the experience ahead.
To provide an authentic Mongolian adventure, accommodations vary throughout the journey. Depending on the location, you may stay in comfortable hotels, traditional Mongolian yurts (gers), guesthouses, ger camps, family homestays, or remote wilderness campsites beneath Mongolia's vast open skies. This mix of accommodation offers a genuine taste of life across one of the world's most remote and fascinating countries.
This expedition takes you deep into the heart of Mongolia, one of the world's last great wilderness destinations. Starting from the open grasslands of Argunt and the wildlife-rich landscapes of Hustai National Park, the route leads through the rolling dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai and the historic capital of Kharkhorin. You'll relax in the natural hot springs of Tsenkher, ride through the spectacular Orkhon Valley, and cross the remote wilderness of Zuunbayan-Ulaan and Guchin-Us before entering the legendary Gobi Desert.
In the Gobi, you'll explore the towering dunes of Khongoryn Els, witness the famous Flaming Cliffs of Bayanzag, and ride through the dramatic canyon of Yolyn Am. The adventure continues to the striking White Stupa cliffs of Tsagaan Suvarga and the unique granite formations of Baga Gazariin Chuluu before returning to Ulaanbaatar.

We make advance payments for motorcycles, accommodations, support vehicles, permits, staff, and logistics to ensure a seamless experience for our riders. For this reason, the following cancellation policy applies to all bookings.

We Ride Mongolia shall not be liable for delays, route changes, modifications, or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemics, government actions, border closures, civil unrest, strikes, or other unforeseen events.
By paying a deposit or any part of the expedition fee, the participant acknowledges and accepts this Cancellation Policy in full.

There are no perfect roads waiting for you, no predictable terrain and no guarantee that every day will go according to plan. That’s Mongolia. You come here not just to ride a motorcycle, but to experience freedom, uncertainty, remote wilderness and the feeling of being very far from everything familiar.
This is an adventure expedition, not a normal motorcycle holiday. Around 90% of the riding is off-road, including dirt tracks, gravel, sand, mud, river crossings and remote terrain. You should be comfortable riding a motorcycle for several hours a day and be prepared for changing weather and challenging conditions.
Previous off-road experience is strongly recommended, but you don't need to be a professional enduro rider. What matters most is confidence, basic motorcycle control and a willingness to ride in unpredictable terrain.
Our expedition motorcycles are selected specifically for Mongolia's terrain. The bikes are lightweight and suitable for long-distance off-road riding.
Daily distances vary depending on terrain, weather and the route. Some days are relatively easy, while others can be physically demanding. In Mongolia, the terrain—not the clock—often decides how the day goes.
Yes. A major part of the expedition takes place away from conventional paved roads. Expect dirt tracks, gravel, sand, rocky sections, open steppe and remote trails.
You won't be riding alone. Our support team travels with the expedition, carrying tools, spare parts and equipment to deal with common mechanical problems. In remote Mongolia, however, repairs can sometimes take time—that is part of the adventure.
Our support team will assist you and assess the situation. Depending on the circumstances and location, you may be transported by the support vehicle while the team handles your motorcycle.
Very remote. There will be sections where you can ride for hours without seeing a town, petrol station or conventional tourist infrastructure. That's one of the reasons Mongolia is so special.
Accommodation is a mixture of traditional Mongolian ger camps, hotels, homestays and camping, depending on the route and location.
A ger is the traditional round tent dwelling of Mongolian nomadic families. During the expedition, staying in gers gives you a chance to experience a small part of traditional Mongolian life.
Our moving kitchen and chef travel with the expedition and prepare three meals a day. We aim to provide filling, practical food suitable for long days of riding.
No. You should expect periods without mobile network or reliable internet. Mongolia is about disconnecting from the normal world and connecting with the road, the landscape and the people around you.
Please tell us about your dietary requirements when booking. We will do our best to accommodate them, but because we travel through remote areas, the available ingredients can sometimes be limited.
We keep the groups relatively small so that the expedition remains personal, manageable and enjoyable rather than feeling like a large commercial tour.
Yes. You must have a valid motorcycle licence that permits you to legally ride the motorcycle category required for the expedition. International driving documentation may also be required depending on your country of residence.
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance covering motorcycle riding, adventure activities, medical treatment and emergency evacuation is strongly recommended. Please check the policy carefully before travelling.
That's completely fine. Most riders come to Mongolia to experience something completely different. Our local team will guide you throughout the expedition.
No. We see it as an expedition. There is a difference. Mongolia can throw sand, mud, rivers, weather and unexpected terrain at you—and that's exactly what makes the ride memorable.
Your expedition package includes the motorcycle, accommodation, meals, support vehicles, local riding/support team and other services specified in the tour package. Check the current booking page for the complete list of inclusions and exclusions.
International flights, personal expenses, visa costs where applicable, personal insurance and items specifically listed as exclusions are generally not included. Always check the current trip details before booking.

Our expedition is scheduled during the Mongolian riding season when weather and road conditions are generally suitable for motorcycle travel. Mongolia's weather can still change quickly, so riders should be prepared for different conditions.
Good riding gear is essential. Bring a proper helmet, riding jacket and pants, riding boots, gloves, waterproof layers, warm clothing, personal medication, sunglasses and basic personal items. We will provide you with a detailed packing list before the expedition.
It depends on what you mean by beginner. If you're new to motorcycles or have very little riding experience, this expedition may not be suitable. If you're an experienced road rider who is new to off-road riding, contact us—we can discuss your experience and expectations honestly.
Because we don't want you to simply visit Mongolia—we want you to ride through it. You'll experience remote landscapes, nomadic culture, dirt tracks, deserts, open steppe and places far away from conventional tourist routes.

Motorcycle adventure touring is an inherently risky activity. By joining our Mongolia Motorcycle Expedition, you acknowledge and accept that riding through remote terrain, off-road tracks, sand, rocks, river crossings, changing weather conditions, and high-altitude environments involves the risk of accidents, injury, illness, permanent disability, or even death.
All participants are responsible for ensuring they are physically and mentally fit to take part in the expedition. You must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, injuries, or medications that may affect your ability to participate safely before the tour begins.
We strongly recommend that all riders obtain comprehensive travel and adventure motorcycle insurance that covers medical treatment, emergency evacuation, repatriation, and personal accident.
While our team carries a first-aid kit and will make every reasonable effort to assist in the event of an emergency, we are not medical professionals. Medical facilities in remote areas of Mongolia can be limited, and evacuation or access to advanced medical care may be delayed due to weather, terrain, or location.
By participating in our tour, you agree that you do so voluntarily and entirely at your own risk. You release and hold harmless the tour organizers, guides, staff, local partners, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, or expenses arising from injury, illness, medical complications, disability, or death, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct as required by applicable law.
If, in the opinion of the tour leader, your physical or medical condition makes it unsafe for you or the group to continue, we reserve the right to remove you from the expedition without refund. Any medical expenses, evacuation costs, accommodation, transportation, or other related expenses arising from injury or illness remain the sole responsibility of the participant.

Mobile network and internet access will be limited or unavailable on many days of the expedition.
We prepare and inspect every motorcycle before the expedition and our support team travels with tools and spare parts. However, in remote terrain mechanical problems, punctures and breakdowns can still happen, and repairs may take time. We cannot guarantee that no breakdowns or delays will occur.
Our expeditions rely on local partners, including ger camp owners, guesthouses, hotels, host families, drivers and other service providers. We select them with care, but they operate independently, and facilities, standards and availability may vary. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions or failures of independent third parties, or for airlines, airports and other transport operators.
Participants are responsible for their own international flights, visas, passports, vaccinations, personal travel insurance, and any accommodation before or after the expedition. We are not liable for costs or losses arising from missed, delayed or cancelled flights, visa refusals or personal travel arrangements.

I’ve been riding and organising motorcycle expeditions for the past 10 years, mainly across the Himalayas, Mongolia & Vietnam.
For me, this is much more than a business. I’m genuinely passionate about motorcycles, travelling the world, meeting people from different cultures, and sharing meaningful experiences on the road. I love hospitality and enjoy taking care of my riders, making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and part of the journey.
I don’t look at these trips as commercial tours where you simply follow a guide from one hotel to another. I personally lead the expeditions and try to keep them raw, adventurous, authentic, and as close to the real local experience as possible.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to meet riders from all over the world, many of whom have become good friends and returned for another adventure with me.
My goal is simple to ride great roads, explore wild places, experience different cultures, and create memories that stay with us long after the motorcycles are parked.
